World’s Best Big Wave Riders to Paddle Massive Oregon Waves at the third Stop of the 2011 Big Wave World Tour & Womens Exhibition
Liquid Militia started it up at this events inception 6 years ago, and we’re still at it with the Nelscott Reef Paddle in Classic! Big sharks, steep walls, the coldest water imaginable, heavy waves and the best big wave surfers the world has to offer. Nelscott is known for the elements and the action, and its consistency. The Nelscott Reef event has been held every year, as soon as the contest window opens, the contest closes with podium finishes. This all goes down in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Like most big wave breaks, getting to the location is part of the adventure. When a positive swell looms, a 48 hour notice is hailed, from across the globe when the contest light hits ‘green’, contestants and media will be packing, flying, driving and arriving in Lincoln City. That hits when the contest director John Forse makes the call. Mr. Consistent hasn’t let anyone down yet, six years and running! With the inclusion on the Big Wave World Tour (BWWT), lucky seven looms, keep yourself staged any day.
