Ian Roberts 2nd and Brock Austin 3rd Overall Pro Ski GP

Ian Roberts pit set up

Saturday Ian had a bit of a rough run he Holeshoted moto 1 then crashed and finished 4th. Was leading going into the first corner in moto 2 when Rius center punched him and took him out, finishing 8th.

Sunday was another story ‘Ian took 2nd in Pro Ski GP almost taking 1st for the overall,’ said Chris MacClugage , who was at the event watching the whole thing go down. Ian holeshoted moto 1 and won it. In the second moto he had a close race with Warner who ultimately was able to hold Roberts at bay for the win. Leaving Roberts with a 2nd overall for the weekend.

LIQUID MILITIA’S IRONMAN WINNER- RYAN DECKER

Ryan Decker Age 17, Tucson AZ

The 2013 Mark Hahn 300 mile memorial race at Lake Havasu, Arizona, USA

Ryan Decker Lifestyle

LM: What were you racing?
RD: Stock SXR 800 Kawasaki Jetski-Stand Up

LM: Race Boat Prepped by?
RD: Macc Racing & Tech One

LM: Mark Hahn 300 Race Class
RD: Stand Up Open

LM: How many laps did you do?
RD: I think I did about 20

LM: What was the race start like?
RD: We started on the beach I ran to my ski with the rest of the racers for the Le Mans start which mixed stand ups and sit down race boats off the starting line. It was pretty mellow compared to a closed course race so I wasn’t too worried about getting the best start. I wasn’t worried about being the first stand up out there. This kind of race start doesn’t make or break this race; however the endurance is the goal for the ending. Racers here need to have a good pit crew and a reliable race boat. Mine was prepped by Macc Racing and Tech One, so right there I had a solid advantage on my equipment set up.

LM: What was the race track conditions like?
RD: It started off kind of choppy and then it began to calm down and became flat at the end of the race. I kind of liked the chop in the beginning I had a lot of energy early on, and then towards the end I was getting tired so the water kind of settled and I was able to maintain my pace.

LM: Did you know where you were in the race pack?
RD: I went into it to win Ironman as my main goal, then seeing how I was doing into the race I was motivated. I tried hard because I thought I had a chance that I might actually win it.

LM: What was the most challenging part of the race for you?
RD: Just my endurance capability, trying to focus on staying steady, one lap at a time, that’s what I did.

LM: What about your Decker pit crew?
RD: I had a great crew, it consisted of my dad, my mom, Steve Webster, Tom and another family friend. I thought our pits were fast, really good, we had few mistakes, the team was really consistent, which helped a lot.

LM: What does it feel like to win the Mark Hahn?
RD: It hasn’t really set in! I’m glad to win this it gives me confidence for the rest of the season and the race message is ‘to never give up’.

Ryan Decker 1st Place in stand up class and Iron-Man

LM: Did you practice for the Mark Hahn 300?
RD: No I didn’t I had a knee injury that was healing up, and coming out of that I only rode once before the Mark Hahn. I mainly focused on m physical therapy, so I didn’t really have much opportunity to put a training regime together but was trying to stay strong and allow my knee injury to heal heading into this. Everything ran good for us, we had everything prepared before I got here, so I was ready to race and focused.

LM: What part of your body hurts?
RD: Hands, upper body, but I could probably tell you about that better tomorrow. LOL

LM: The event, how many laps, what was your overall time?
RD: I thought it was a really good run event; it was a pretty fun race. I ran a transponder on my boat, the finish line one broke I think, so they had to do the times manually. We will have the information later this week or possibly tomorrow, so not sure of the stats on the race.

LM: Is this your first Mark Hahn?
RD: No. This is my third Mark Hahn. I was 15 when I did my first Mark Hahn on a runabout, this is the first year I’ve raced on a standup.

Liquid Militia will be attending the IJSBA World Finals but we will not be having a booth this year.

When? and Where? Sept. 29 – Oct. 7, Crazy Horse Campgrounds, Lake Havasu City, AZ

We have thought long and hard about doing this event for 2012. And we have come to the conclusion that we are not going to have a booth this year. We have been doing this event for the past 6 years. We have decided to take a break from all the hustle and bustle for 2012.

Why? because we get so wrapped up in our booth that we don’t seem to have any time to hang out with our team riders and actually watch them race. So we want to use this year to focus 100% on our team riders and provide them the maximum amount of support we can offer.

We are going to work on something totally new and exciting for 2013. We we return to the World Finals, and when we do we will have a totally different booth set up and a full new product range to show off.

Ryan & Kyla from Liquid Militia Photo By: Ronny Mac

We know a lot of people will be bummed out not to see the legit Liquid Militia Booth this year but no worries we will still be attending so if you see us walking around we will actually have more time to chat with everyone. We are proud to announce that we have teamed up with Hydro-Turf , McGraw Insurance and ProRider Watercraft Magazine for the 2012 Ride and Grind World Finals Party at Kokomos. All the info is shown on this flyer below \/ We all have a few “SPECIAL” things planned for this party night so don’t be lame and miss out.

Liquid Militia is proud to be apart of this event.

If anything changes or comes up we will update it right here on this post so check back for any updates.

WITH THAT BEING SAID WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE FOLLOWING LIQUID MILITIA TEAM RIDERS WILL BE COMPETING AT THE WORLD FINALS THIS YEAR:
Chris MacClugage
Ian Roberts Racing Pro Ski GP and Open.
Brock Austin Pro am Ski Stock and Expert Limited.
Ryan Decker

LM: How was the drive from AZ?

LM: Are you planning on competing at the Sparks/Reno Race coming up in a few weeks?

LIQUID MILITIA RIDER Ryan Decker on the MARK HAHN 300

RYAN DECKER 300

One of Liquid Militia’s youngest Team Rider is Ryan Decker from Tucson, Arizona.

Ryan Decker Racing- Teammate: Robert Decker

4 Stroke Stock Runabout – Kawasaki Ultra 300X #714

Ryan raced the Mark Hahn last year 2011 and finished 28th overall in the field. He has the first run experience now to apply himself to a fast track in 2012.

Supporters: Macc Racing, Parents, Liquid Militia, Hydro-turf, Fria beverages.

“Our race strategy for the duration of the race, those thirty – ten mile laps, is to have fast pits and very consistent lap times.” States Ryan. “Complete turnkey pit stops will be are greatest challenge”. Ryan knows from last year’s attack that the pits make or break lap times. The key to staying consistent is for land and water to merge and stay in sync with the clock. The clock is the machine of truth, if you aren’t running fast enough in the pits, you can try to make it up on the water, or hope your competitors are scrambling. So there’s a juggling strategy. Every second counts, in fact it matters. “Our pit crew consists of my parents and some of their friends” adds Ryan. This family represents what racing is about, keeping it together and the support, that key element that makes teams effective. It truly is a family affair.

It’s not just the team, but the riders efforts that stack into the equation. Ryan has been taking this challenge seriously and preparing for it. Preparation is key to winning. ‘To get ready for this race I have been riding a lot of motor cross, doing cross fit and using the versa climber’.

Liquid Militia is proud of our youngster racer, we are cheering him onward! I expect to finish and get top 3 in my class.’. We think that sounds about right!
