Mike Mendez 3rd Place Finish Overall
LM: What did you think of the location for this race?
MM: Great location. Beautiful scenery. Great weather. Nice launch area.
LM: Would you come back and race this race again if it happens next year?
MM: I would come back. It was centrally located to attract solid competition.
LM: Memorable moments at this location?
MM: Warner decided to pull out a fresh, really competitive stock class Ultra 300. It was motivation to push extra hard 1st moto which unfortunately landed me in the drink. I Yard sailed on the first turn after the hole shot. I tried to overpower Habel’s pump wash and cross wakes mid turn looking for flatter water. I had Warner on my outside and was going to be damned if I gave it up. Second moto went better. I believe I took hole shot briefly before popping up in third after first turn. Chasing Habel and Warner I definitely had my work cut out for me. Conditions became a little rougher in the afternoon which allowed the group of ultras and their great hulls to pull away from the rest. Good Competition.

LM: How do you feel you did overall this weekend?
MM: 3rd overall for the weekend. I believe I could have raced harder and plan on bringing my A game to Sparks in a couple weeks.
LM: Are you planning on competing at the Sparks/Reno Race coming up in a few weeks?
MM: Does a bear $hit in the woods?
LM: Anything you would like to add?
MM: Liquid Militia and Hydro turf did a spectacular job with the riders tents, food, drinks, and shade. Love the support.
* Need to shout out to all the people that make it happen. Liquid Militia, Hydro-Turf, Ht Moto, One Industries, Spy, Uneek Abilitys, ODI, Amsoil, Dk1 Design, Jetpilot, LML Properties….most importantly my two boys, my loving girlfriend and family.
Thanks, Mike
